SAGU MAGGOT 


It is actually a beetle larvae that nest in the trunk of rotten sagu tree. The sagu maggot can be enjoyed by a variety of dishes either fried with soy sauce, smoked or made into soup for satay sauce. The demand of this maggot is very high among the natives, Chinese and foreign tourists because of it taste. Some say that it so creamy and very delicious. For hardcore fans, they eat maggot alive by dowse with fine salt or eaten with sago. Although no scientific studies , sago maggot is said to have several benefits including reducing obesity while as a nourishing oil for hair growth. The maggot have a taste like shrimp but it is more sweet with a fairly strong smell.
